Best Chocolate Gifts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi: A Guide by Occasion

Makaw gift boxes: a Medium Discovery box of bonbons, a Medium Pyramid of three boxes and a Pearl Top acrylic tray

A good chocolate gift is easy to get wrong. Too small and it feels like an afterthought. Too large and it sits unopened on a desk. The right box depends less on budget than on the occasion, the person and how it will be handed over.

This guide walks through the most common gifting moments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and the Makaw boxes that suit each one. Everything is crafted in France and delivered across all seven Emirates, or you can collect from one of our three boutiques.

A thank-you or a small gesture

For a colleague, a neighbour or a teacher, a small box does the job. The Small Discovery Box holds 15 hand-crafted bonbons from across the range, enough for one or two people to try several flavours.

If you would rather give something to keep on the counter, a jar of salted caramels or almond nougat looks good on a table and is easy to share. A single chocolate bar also works for someone who simply loves chocolate: our 100g bars run from single origin dark to pistachio praline.

Visiting family or being invited to dinner

When you are the guest, the box should be generous enough to share around the table. The Medium Discovery Box holds 40 bonbons, plenty of variety for a family evening. The all-white Medium Mont Blanc is a more distinctive alternative, filled with a sea salt milk and dark chocolate ganache.

Hosts who like to leave something out on the table will appreciate the individually wrapped Florentines, which keep well and are easy to pick up one at a time.

Weddings, engagements and new babies

Celebrations are where presentation matters most. White Mont Blanc bonbons suit white-themed events and newborn visits. For guest favours, the Mini Giveaway Boxes hold six bonbons each, with box and ribbon colours that can be matched to your occasion (minimum order: 10 boxes).

For a centrepiece, our acrylic trays carry 3kg to 3.5kg of bonbons and confectionery under a clear cover. The Pearl Top hexagon tray, topped with salted caramel white pearls, is a natural fit for weddings and newborn celebrations.

Eid visits, majlis and large gatherings

Large gatherings call for volume. The Large Discovery Box has 77 bonbons and was made for Eid visits, engagements and offices that deserve a treat. The Maxi Discovery Box, with 126 bonbons, is our largest bonbon box and is sized for a majlis.

To bring more than one thing, the Pyramid sets in our bonbon and biscuit boxes collection stack two to four boxes into a single gift.

For the chocolate lover

Some people just want better chocolate. The Acrylic Bar Box holds ten of our best-selling bars in a clear gift box, a simple way to taste across the range, from single origin dark chocolate to filled praline bars and marbled bars. If you are not sure which style they would like, our guide to the types of chocolate explains the differences.

Gifts for clients and teams

Business gifting has its own considerations: quantities, delivery to several addresses, and boxes that look right on a client's desk. How delivery and collection work

We deliver across all seven Emirates, seven days a week between 8am and 10pm, using our own delivery team rather than a courier. Chocolate is delicate in the UAE heat, and handling it ourselves is how it arrives in perfect condition. Home and office delivery starts from a basket of AED 180, and fees by area are in our shipping policy.

You can also collect your order for free from our boutiques at Al Seef Village Mall in Abu Dhabi, and Gate Avenue DIFC and Souk Madinat Badr in Dubai.
